Description

Lead the Software Architecture Team for avionics mission systems, directing the end-to-end design, development, test, debugging, and maintenance of embedded software integrated into specialized hardware. Translate customer requirements into software product designs that meet industry, customer, safety, and regulatory standards, and advise on embedded-software integration with hardware components. Provide technical leadership across integration, efficiency, and stability while influencing current and emerging software and hardware integration approaches.

Responsibilities

• Direct software design, development, test, debugging, and maintenance for embedded devices and systems

• Review and analyze customer requirements and translate them into embedded software product design

• Consult on embedded system code for specialized hardware

• Provide consultation on integration of embedded software with hardware components

• Oversee analyses, monitoring, and improvement of embedded software efficiency and stability

• Direct testing and debugging of embedded software

• Influence technology, tools, frameworks, and regulatory changes relevant to software development and hardware technologies

• Track and evaluate internal and supplier software team performance for compliance with project plans and industry standards

• Provide technical leadership for embedded software project management functions

• Advise management on topics related to the embedded software engineering environment

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree

• Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance; U.S. citizenship required

• 5+ years leading a software development team through the full software life cycle

• 5+ years experience in software architecture and design of embedded software systems

Pay

Senior level (Level 6) pay range: $249,900–$338,100
