Description

You will help set the technical direction and run the cloud infrastructure behind the Affera Digital Platform. The role combines reliability ownership (issue investigation, monitoring/alerting, dashboards, and root-cause fixes) with infrastructure and developer-experience improvements (evolving Terraform-based AWS infrastructure and CI/CD) for safer, faster releases. The platform runs on AWS across multiple regions, supports containerized workloads, remote GPU visualization, web frontend delivery, and secure data ingestion with healthcare-grade audit trails.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the US-based point of contact for platform reliability: investigate issues, improve monitoring/alerting/dashboards, and implement lasting fixes for recurring problems

• Evolve Terraform-based AWS infrastructure along with CI/CD pipelines, environments, and developer tooling

• Work closely with backend, frontend, and DevOps engineers across the US and Europe

• Partner with security and cloud teams on reviews and compliance

• Contribute to architecture decisions around scalability, cost, and security

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years relevant experience, or Master’s degree and 5+ years relevant experience, or PhD and 3+ years relevant experience

• Terraform experience at scale: modular design, state management, multi-environment and multi-region deployments

• AWS experience including ECS/Fargate, EC2 and Auto Scaling, Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudFront, and ALB

• Observability and troubleshooting experience (CloudWatch or similar), including alerting, dashboards, and root-cause analysis

• CI/CD experience (GitLab CI or similar), Docker/ECR, and developer environment tooling

• Cloud security experience and ability to work through security reviews (VPC networking, IAM, KMS encryption, WAF)
