Description

Build, operate, and continuously improve the cloud infrastructure behind the Affera Digital Platform. You will support platform reliability (monitoring, alerting, troubleshooting, and durable fixes) and evolve Terraform-based AWS infrastructure and CI/CD to help engineers ship faster and more safely. The platform runs on AWS across multiple regions with containerized workloads, a modern web frontend, GPU instance capacity for remote 3D visualization, and data ingestion pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Act as a US-based point of contact for the platform: investigate issues, improve monitoring/alerting/dashboards, perform root-cause analysis, and deliver lasting fixes.

• Evolve Terraform-based AWS infrastructure along with CI/CD pipelines, environments, and developer tooling.

• Collaborate with backend, frontend, and DevOps engineers across the US and Europe.

• Partner with security and cloud teams on reviews and compliance.

• Contribute to architecture decisions for scalability, cost, and security.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years relevant experience, or Master’s degree and 2+ years, or PhD with 0 years.

• Terraform at scale (modular design, state management, multi-environment and multi-region deployments).

• AWS experience with ECS/Fargate and/or EC2, Auto Scaling, Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudFront, and ALB.

• Observability and troubleshooting experience (CloudWatch or similar, alerting, dashboards, root cause analysis).

• CI/CD experience (GitLab CI or similar) plus Docker/ECR and developer environment tooling.

• Cloud security experience working through security reviews (VPC networking, IAM, KMS encryption, WAF).
