Description

You will own and evolve AWS edge infrastructure and deep parts of the cloud and networking stack, helping run a platform at significant scale. This is a hands-on role where you design, write, and review production Go code alongside infrastructure-as-code, building internal abstractions and CLI tooling that automate, observe, and extend the cloud platform.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve edge infrastructure (CloudFront, AWS Shield, WAF, CDN failover, latency-optimized routing)

• Build and maintain Go-based services and CLI tooling to automate and observe the cloud platform

• Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure costs

• Lead architecture decisions for cloud topology, multi-account governance, cross-region connectivity, and platform abstractions

• Collaborate with SRE, Security, and Platform teams to embed observability, compliance, and operational excellence

• Troubleshoot complex network issues using deep TCP/IP and traffic flow analysis

• Design and operate global partner and bank connectivity (VPNs with IPSec/IKEv2, Direct Connect, BGP)

• Participate in a weekly on-call rotation (5-person) with occasional late syncs with Seattle

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software, cloud, or infrastructure engineering, including writing production code, with significant hands-on AWS depth

• Distributed systems development proficiency (Go/Python or similar) and experience operating production services

• Cloud networking expertise: VPC design/subnetting, routing, Transit Gateway, DNS, load balancing

• Edge infrastructure experience: CloudFront distributions, AWS Shield, WAF, CDN failover strategies

• Infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform preferred)

• AWS cost optimization skills: billing, Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, right-sizing

• Knowledge of cloud/infrastructure management concepts including multi-account governance and organizational tooling (Kubernetes/EKS is a plus)
