Description

You’ll build end-to-end AI-powered agents and tools, working with clients to identify opportunities, prototype quickly, evaluate rigorously, and ship production capabilities. The role includes designing agent behavior, integrating LLMs (prompt engineering, function calling, structured outputs, and retrieval-augmented workflows), and building evaluation/test harnesses. You’ll also monitor and maintain production AI systems with attention to reliability, cost, and performance.

Responsibilities

• Identify client problems with domain experts, prototype rapidly, evaluate rigorously, and ship to production

• Design and implement LLM integrations using prompt engineering, function calling, structured outputs, and RAG workflows

• Define evaluation criteria and build test harnesses where correctness is ambiguous and domain-specific

• Partner with clients to validate AI behavior and iterate toward production quality

• Generalize client-specific work into product features with core engineering

• Contribute to shared AI infrastructure (agent frameworks, tool integrations, deployment pipelines)

• Monitor and maintain production AI systems for reliability, cost, and performance

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience

• Professional experience with Python

• Experience with LLM APIs (Claude, GPT, or similar), including function calling and structured outputs

• Comfort with SQL for data exploration and building data-grounded AI workflows

• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Codex, or similar)

• Built something from zero to one; interested in discovery of what to build

• Bias for action; ships quickly and iterates from feedback

• Takes projects through prototype-to-production while caring about client experience

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent experience

Benefits

• Compensation includes base salary + bonus + equity + benefits

• Base salary range: $188,000–$235,000 USD (US)
