  • Focus: Application engineering for data platforms, pipelines, internal tools, and service layers

Description

You will help set software engineering standards and build production-grade internal applications that bring rigor to data platforms and pipelines. The work emphasizes backend services and integration layers connecting upstream game telemetry, cloud infrastructure, event streams, and internal microservices to enable low-latency data access, decisioning, and player messaging.

Responsibilities

  • Lead hands-on engineering standards through code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, and documentation
  • Design and build production-grade internal applications, web tools, and backend services
  • Build integration layers and consumers connecting streaming and data stores (Kafka streams, relational databases, NoSQL stores, cloud storage, internal APIs)
  • Architect data access and application state across mixed storage technologies with low latency and data integrity
  • Collaborate with product, design, engineers, analysts, and marketing to turn loosely defined needs into usable software
  • Own what you build in production: troubleshoot, improve performance, availability, and reliability
  • Use modern tooling to accelerate prototyping, implementation, testing, and debugging while maintaining production quality

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of engineering and product work
  • Strong backend programming with Python as the primary language
  • Proven API design, integration, and performance tuning experience
  • Strong SQL and hands-on experience with both relational and NoSQL databases
  • Practical experience integrating with streaming architecture (Kafka, Pub/Sub)
  • Working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform or Azure and container workflows (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Solid foundation in automated testing, CI/CD, and system monitoring
  • Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools effectively with technical judgment
  • Curious self-starter with analytical problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate

Benefits

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and healthcare spending accounts (subject to eligibility)
  • Life and AD&D, disability insurance
  • 401(k) with company match; tuition reimbursement; charitable donation matching
  • Paid holidays and vacation; paid sick time; floating holidays; compassion and bereavement leaves; parental leave
  • Mental health & wellbeing programs; fitness programs; free and discounted games; additional voluntary benefits
  • Potential relocation assistance if geographic relocation is required
  • Standard U.S. base pay range: $102,800.00 - $190,204.00 annually (plus potential incentive compensation)
