Description

Support a long-term DIA-NDOC DOMEX Technology Platform (DTP) contract by delivering middle-tier and backend capabilities for mission-focused systems. You will design, develop, test, and maintain Python microservices, implement Kafka messaging, and integrate Elasticsearch for indexing and querying. Work includes CI/CD and Kubernetes deployments, production monitoring/troubleshooting, and collaboration on architecture and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Python microservices

• Implement Apache Kafka message producers and consumers

• Integrate Elasticsearch for real-time and batch indexing and querying

• Write unit and integration tests to ensure high code coverage

• Build CI/CD pipelines and deploy services to Kubernetes clusters

• Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and architecture planning

• Monitor and troubleshoot production issues using observability tools

• Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing

• Use software engineering and design methodologies appropriate to development and production environments

• Collaborate with Systems Engineers, Architects, and Operations Engineering/Manager to deliver quality services

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship

• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance

• Bachelor’s degree with 4–8 years relevant experience OR Master’s with 2–6 years relevant experience

• Python proficiency with backend frameworks (FastAPI, Flask)

• Containerization experience (Docker)

• ETL experience

• Hands-on Linux development with bash (or bash-like scripting)

• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and microservice architecture

• Hands-on Kubernetes experience (deploying, monitoring, debugging)

• Knowledge of design patterns, security practices, and logging/monitoring principles

• Git experience with collaborative workflows (PRs, reviews)

• DevOps/CI/CD experience, especially GitLab or Jenkins

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Experience with Agile practices

• Ability to work well in a team and as a self-starter
