Description

Oversee, organize, and coordinate sterile field preparation for surgical operations, including staffing and work assignments. Direct, implement, and update policies, procedures, and protocols to streamline workflow, improve efficiency, and strengthen quality assurance. Support the surgical team during procedures by anticipating needs and providing instruments and supplies while maintaining aseptic technique and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate the sterile field for surgery, including staffing and work assignments
• Implement and update policies, procedures, and protocols
• Distribute supplies; perform equipment maintenance, testing, and setup as needed
• Support the surgical team during operations (pass instruments/supplies, hold retractors, anticipate surgeon needs)
• Ensure care aligns with best practices, accreditation standards, and State/Federal regulations

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or certification demonstrating completion of surgical technology education
• Military training as a Surgical Scrub Technician may be accepted in lieu of a surgical technology program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification
• Minimum 4 years of recent, relevant Surgical Technologist experience
