• Support: CT Surgery APP, LPN, RN, and full OR staff

Description

Short-term cardiothoracic surgery locum covering primarily inpatient care with full 24-hour call throughout the assignment. You will handle inpatient rounding and call responsibilities, and provide outpatient consultations in the afternoons following surgery. The role requires experience with CABG, valve repair/replacement, pericardial window, lung resection, and vascular procedures including endarterectomies.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient rounding and 24-hour call responsibilities

• Perform cardiothoracic surgeries as scheduled (approximately 1–2 per weekday, depending on volume)

• Provide outpatient consultations in the afternoons following surgery

Requirements

• Board Certified cardiothoracic surgeon (ABMS, AOA, or Canadian Royal College membership)

• Doctorate in the applicable medical field from an accredited institution

• Comfortable managing inpatient cardiothoracic surgery and 24-hour call coverage

• Required clinical experience: CABG; valve repair/replacement; pericardial window; lung resection; vascular procedures including endarterectomies
