Description

You will develop and maintain scalable Python microservices and REST APIs using FastAPI for an optimization-focused platform. Responsibilities include advanced Oracle database querying, implementing caching with Redis, and building async/background job processing using Redis workers (e.g., Celery/ARQ/RQ). You will also design data processing and transformations for inputs/outputs used by optimization logic, including results generated by Gurobi.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain performant, scalable Python microservices and APIs
• Create advanced SQL for Oracle, optimize execution plans, and implement Redis caching to speed up API responses
• Implement async processing and queues for background tasks, batch processing, and system integrations using Redis + workers (Celery/ARQ/RQ)
• Build and maintain Python components supporting the optimization process
• Design and implement data validation, transformation, and processing pipelines for inputs and outputs (including Gurobi results)
• Collaborate with optimization, mathematics, and algorithms experts to translate domain logic into software
• Recommend and design the Python application architecture (modules, responsibilities, component interfaces)
• Ensure code quality, readability, testability, and maintainability
• Perform code reviews and recommend improvements and refactoring
• Define and apply Python development best practices (coding standards, project structure, dependency management)
• Develop unit and integration tests, especially for data processing and optimization component integrations
• Co-create testing strategy and mechanisms to enable safe refactoring
• Identify technical debt and propose ways to reduce it
• Support the team with Python best practices, design patterns, clean code, and general software engineering
• Maintain technical documentation for architecture and key design decisions

Requirements

• Minimum 6 years of Python programming experience
• Knowledge of REST API principles
• Knowledge of NumPy, pandas, and xarray
• Knowledge of relational databases
• Ability to create unit and integration tests
• Ability to work with Git repositories
• Knowledge of design patterns and Clean Code principles
• Responsibility and punctuality in delivering tasks
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team
