Description

As a Cloud Engineer, you will architect and implement robust, scalable cloud-based infrastructure on AWS while ensuring the smooth, reliable delivery of solutions. You will drive automation (Infrastructure as Code and configuration management), monitor and resolve failure events, optimize hosting costs, and support modernization of legacy applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage scalable AWS infrastructure
• Coordinate hosting architecture decisions with Software Factory solution architects and Agile trains
• Ensure system reliability through monitoring and efficient issue resolution
• Lead automation initiatives using Infrastructure as Code and configuration management
• Monitor, report, and optimize hosting costs with stakeholders
• Support make-or-buy decisions and onboarding of recurring activities for contractors
• Promote cloud operational best practices, ensuring security compliance and cost control
• Participate in technology evaluation (Hosting Tech Radar), investigate new AWS offerings, and experiment with emerging hosting solutions
• Perform root cause investigations and implement permanent, long-term fixes
• Provide a resilient, highly scalable platform for global application development and continuous delivery
• Consult on converting legacy applications to modern deployment platforms

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in Industrial IT
• Deep public-cloud expertise designing and building secure solutions (preferably AWS)
• Proven automation skills (scripting and reducing manual toil) using Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins
• At least one Public-Cloud Associate certification (e.g., AWS Solution Architect Associate)
• Comprehensive enterprise networking knowledge
• Strong root cause analysis and ability to recommend long-term solutions
• Proven complex troubleshooting experience in public-cloud environments and ability to guide other teams
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Internal and external stakeholder management experience
• Asset: networking, shell scripting, databases, DNS, XML
