Description

Design, build, and implement an OpenStack platform covering networking, storage, and compute infrastructure. Lead the replacement of an existing VMware environment and migrate workloads to OpenStack, while managing Kubernetes clusters lifecycle with Cluster API (CAPI). Support scalable, stable, and reliable platform architecture and build infrastructure automation using OpenTofu and Ansible.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and implement OpenStack (networking, storage, compute)

• Migrate workloads from VMware to OpenStack

• Manage Kubernetes cluster lifecycles using Cluster API (CAPI)

• Develop and maintain infrastructure automation with OpenTofu and Ansible

• Drive architectural decisions for scalability, stability, and reliability

• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and support implementation of solutions

• Coordinate technical activities with the customer operations team, including on-site collaboration in Germany

Requirements

• Several years of professional OpenStack experience with architectural responsibility

• Participation in at least two successfully completed OpenStack projects, each at least 9 months (verifiable)

• Strong hands-on experience designing, deploying, and maintaining OpenStack

• Practical Kubernetes knowledge and cluster lifecycle management with Cluster API (CAPI)

• Experience with OpenTofu and Ansible

• Solid Linux knowledge

• Ability to own technical and architectural decisions while staying actively involved in implementation

• Willingness to travel to Schwerin, Germany for 3 days once per month

• Very good German and Polish
