Description

You will design and maintain a robust, future-oriented storage architecture and ensure stability and high availability across complex storage landscapes. The role includes proactive monitoring, incident/problem management, automation of deployment and operations, and continuous performance and capacity improvements. You will work with NetApp ONTAP and storage protocols such as NFSv3, NFSv4.x, and NVMe-oF.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain resilient storage architecture with your team

• Maintain and optimize availability for block, object, backup, and file storage

• Monitor proactively, resolve incidents independently, and prevent outages

• Handle severe storage incidents through incident and problem management processes, and implement sustainable corrective actions

• Automate provisioning and operational processes and continuously improve products

• Analyze and optimize system performance to support scaling and plan capacity proactively

Requirements

• Proven experience designing, operating, and troubleshooting storage systems, including deep practical experience with NetApp ONTAP

• Deep understanding of storage architectures and protocols (NFSv3, NFSv4.x, NVMe-oF)

• Hands-on Linux operations experience and strong system troubleshooting capability

• Strong automation experience for configuration and operational tasks using Infrastructure-as-Code (Ansible, Terraform, OpenTofu)

• Scripting/programming experience (Go, Python, or Bash)

• Experience working with REST APIs

• Proven performance analysis, troubleshooting of bottlenecks, and proactive capacity planning

• Motivation to learn new technologies and interest in storage ecosystem integrations (virtualization, backup, observability such as Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch)

• Team-oriented mindset and excellent communication skills in English; German is a plus

• Nice-to-have: Kubernetes (K8s) and containerized storage environments
