Description

Join a strategic digital transformation program for one of the largest banks in Central and Eastern Europe. As a Java Backend Developer, you will design and build modern, high-performance services in a distributed (microservices) architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize critical banking services in microservices and hexagonal architecture.

• Create clean, modular code based on DDD and resilience patterns.

• Integrate with internal and external systems using Kafka, REST, and SOAP interfaces.

• Diagnose performance bottlenecks and optimize queries in relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle).

• Participate in test automation (unit, integration) and CI/CD processes.

• Use modern AI tools to improve code production efficiency.

• Senior: provide mentoring, technical leadership, and substantive support for junior engineers.

Requirements

• Documented commercial experience in banking/financial sector projects.

• Mid: at least 5 years of commercial experience; Senior: at least 7–8 years.

• Java 11+ and Spring Framework/Spring Boot (including version standards 3.x).

• JPA/Hibernate, relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle), and caching (Redis or Hazelcast).

• Microservices architecture plus ports-and-adapters (hexagonal) and DDD principles.

• REST, Apache Kafka, and SOAP interface development and operation.

• Distributed systems resilience patterns (Circuit Breaker, Retry, Rate Limiting), SOLID/DRY/KISS, and ability to select and implement tests.

• DevOps/tooling: Maven, Docker, Jenkins, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Practical experience using AI/LLM coding-assistance tools.

• English: minimum B1 level.

• Availability for hybrid work: about 1 day per week in the chosen office.
