Description

Lead architecture, technical strategy, and design for large-scale business data, intelligence, AI, and cloud platform systems. Drive cloud-native distributed system evolution and AI-native platform capabilities including enterprise retrieval/grounding, semantic intelligence, process intelligence, agent orchestration, intelligent automation, and LLM-powered experiences. Modernize and define durable platform capabilities while improving scalability, reliability, security, governance, cost efficiency, and developer experience.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive technical direction across foundational platform capabilities and cross-organization initiatives

• Design and evolve distributed cloud systems for enterprise business applications, data platforms, copilots, agents, and AI-driven experiences

• Lead development of AI-native platform capabilities (retrieval/grounding, semantic intelligence, process intelligence, agent orchestration, intelligent automation, LLM-enabled experiences)

• Evolve Dataverse as an AI-era business data and intelligence platform

• Champion AI-native engineering practices across the software development lifecycle

• Create platform architecture and modernization strategies for consistency, extensibility, resiliency, developer experience, and long-term maintainability

• Evaluate architectural tradeoffs across data platforms, intelligence layers, AI systems, and distributed services

• Establish reusable patterns, frameworks, APIs, data models, and intelligence services

• Champion secure engineering excellence with automation, CI/CD, observability, testing, telemetry, incident management, and operational rigor

• Mentor engineers through architecture reviews, design coaching, and leadership by example

• Partner with engineering, product, research, data science, security, and business stakeholders to influence roadmaps and investments

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in C/C++/C#/Java/JavaScript/Python (or equivalent experience)

• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements

• Required to pass Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
