Description

Conduct eye exams and interpret diagnostic results to identify vision issues and ocular disease. Diagnose and treat eye conditions, prescribe and fit eyeglasses and contact lenses, and advise patients on follow-up care. Deliver outstanding patient service and support practice operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform eye exams using optometric equipment and interpret diagnostic results
• Diagnose and treat ocular disease
• Prescribe, fit, and adjust eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other vision aids
• Recommend appropriate patient follow-up and care options
• Answer patient questions and provide advice on vision and optical issues
• Provide outstanding customer service in all patient interactions
• Direct staff and assist in development of the overall practice

Requirements

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry program
• Active state optometry license
• Valid CPR certificate
• Two-plus years of optometrist experience preferred
• Applied understanding of optometry best practices for diagnosing and treating eye-related disorders
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to relate to patients of diverse backgrounds
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
• General computer proficiency
• Demonstrated problem-solving and multitasking ability
