Description

You will join a key digital transformation program in the bank environment and take ownership of backend architecture for services and complex integrations with core/transaction systems. The role includes setting technology standards, conducting architecture and code reviews, improving performance and resilience, and maintaining architectural documentation (e.g., C4, ADR). You will closely collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, Product Owners, and security/infrastructure teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve backend service architecture (microservices) and complex integrations with core/transaction systems

• Make key technology decisions and define patterns/standards for development teams

• Lead architecture and code reviews

• Support teams in performance and resilience troubleshooting

• Create and maintain architecture documentation (C4, ADR)

• Work closely with analysts, Product Owners, and security/infrastructure teams

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of commercial backend experience in Java, including at least 3 years as an Architect or Tech Lead

• Documented, practical experience in projects for the banking sector (required)

• Expert knowledge of distributed systems architecture (microservices, hexagonal architecture, DDD, event-driven)

• Strong proficiency in Java 11+ (current LTS), Spring Framework, and Spring Boot 3.x

• Solid integration experience (REST, SOAP, Kafka) and resilience patterns (circuit breaker, retry, idempotency)

• Experience with PostgreSQL and Oracle; caching with Hazelcast or Redis; JPA + Hibernate

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD with Jenkins and Maven

• Knowledge of application security (OAuth2/OIDC) and financial services regulatory requirements

• English level sufficient to read/write technical documentation

• ASAP availability; notice period up to 30 days

• Ability to work hybrid: ~1 day/week in one of the listed Polish offices

• Ability to sign GDPR (RODO) consent
