Description

You will develop and maintain Java-based applications supporting critical public service business processes. The role includes designing new features, modernizing existing systems, and integrating components in Kubernetes environments with performance, reliability, and regulatory requirements in mind. You will collaborate with architects, product teams, and domain experts, using agile practices and AI-assisted development tools when they streamline engineering tasks.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement backend applications using Java and modern JVM technologies

• Apply good engineering practices (Clean Code, SOLID, TDD, DDD)

• Integrate applications with components deployed in Kubernetes environments

• Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI)

• Use AI-assisted engineering tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot)

• Work in agile, international teams and contribute to shared best practices

Requirements

• Technical degree and solid foundations in software engineering

• Minimum 2–5 years of experience with Java/JVM-based technologies

• Experience with Spring, Hibernate, Maven, and Git

• Ability to write unit tests (JUnit, Mockito)

• Experience with relational (MS SQL/Oracle) or non-relational (Redis/MongoDB) databases

• Practical experience with CI/CD and version control systems

• Experience with GenAI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) or willingness to actively use them

• Communicative English and German (min. B1)
