Description

You will help develop a decision support system for investment analysts by building and optimizing data applications and databases. The role requires a data-first approach across SQL/dbt transformations, analytics model design, and Power BI dashboard/report development (not Power BI-only). This is a contract position where you must ramp up quickly, understand the existing data environment, take ownership, and deliver completed solutions.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and enhance dbt-based data pipelines and transformation workflows

• Develop reusable analytics and reporting data models

• Investigate data with SQL and data warehouse platforms, troubleshoot issues, and implement transformations

• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, semantic models, and DAX measures

• Translate business requirements into data models and reporting solutions

• Perform data analysis, validation, reconciliation, and data quality checks

• Troubleshoot data issues from source through transformation to reporting

• Drive assigned tasks through development, testing, and completion

• Collaborate with business, analytics, and engineering teams to deliver production-ready solutions

Requirements

• Strong SQL and data analysis skills

• Hands-on experience with dbt and modern ELT/data transformation practices

• Solid understanding of data modeling (dimensional modeling, fact/dimension structures, analytics datasets)

• Experience with modern cloud data warehouse, preferably Snowflake

• Strong working experience with Power BI (data modeling, DAX, dashboard development, performance considerations)

• Ability to understand unfamiliar datasets and identify relationships, data quality issues, and transformation requirements

• Experience debugging and supporting existing data pipelines and analytics solutions

• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision

• Strong experience with Python and Airflow

• Strong experience with AWS cloud services
