Description

You will be the main technical expert for data engineering in a BI-focused team, taking ownership of the data engineering area. The role includes building and improving data pipelines, transformations, and data models, analyzing existing solutions for gaps and risks, and troubleshooting issues end to end from source systems to the reporting layer. You will collaborate closely with Power BI developers and stakeholders and provide technical guidance to improve technical decisions.

Responsibilities

• Take technical ownership of the data engineering area

• Build and improve data pipelines, transformations, and data models

• Analyze existing solutions to identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities

• Troubleshoot issues end to end from source systems to the reporting layer

• Collaborate with Power BI developers, architects, and stakeholders

• Provide technical guidance to BI developers

• Ensure quality, stability, and continuous improvement of the data environment

Requirements

• Several years of experience in data engineering with strong practical knowledge of SQL and data modelling

• Hands-on experience with Python (or similar)

• Experience with Azure Data Services and Azure Data Factory (ADF) and/or Airflow

• Good understanding of Power BI and reporting environments

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills across different layers of a data solution

• Ability to work independently and take ownership

• Proactive mindset and willingness to challenge existing solutions

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

This is a hands-on lead role: you will not manage a separate data engineering team, but you will drive technical ownership and help the BI-focused team make better technical decisions.
