Senior Project Management Engineer (Rail Infrastructure)

Description

You will support a major rail infrastructure program covering the reorganization of a rail junction with new stations, tunnels, and bridges and a pilot for digitalization. The role focuses on ensuring cost, schedule, and quality during execution planning and construction and on accompanying commissioning. You will also manage interface coordination between planning, execution, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure performance regarding cost, schedule, and quality in execution planning and during construction
• Develop analyses, countermeasures, and action scenarios in case of deviations or threatened targets
• Coordinate interfaces between planning, execution, and documentation
• Support the commissioning process for the large project
• Obtain required approvals (EBA, VV BAU)
• Ensure timely submission of commissioning-relevant documents
• Assess contract and change-claim (Nachtrag) entitlements and develop solutions
• Maintain regular reporting on performance and schedule development

Requirements

• Completed (technical) university degree in engineering, infrastructure management, or project management, or equivalent qualification
• Solid project management knowledge, ideally with certification
• Experience in infrastructure construction and interface management
• Knowledge of contract law (HOAI, VOB) and negotiation experience
• DB Group experience is preferred
• Negotiation-level German skills (spoken and written)
• Strong teamwork, independence, and structured analytical approach
