Description

The product development engineer designs, develops, and brings innovative mechanical and mechatronic systems to series readiness to support product quality and production efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Concept development: Create solution concepts in the team, assess methods, and select the most promising approaches

• Design & sizing: Develop mechanical and mechatronic systems including calculations, FMEA, and creation/verification of manufacturing-ready drawings

• TechLab testing: Demonstrate functionality on real hardware in close connection with your design work

• Prototype build & validation: Manage component procurement requirements, supervise prototype build, plan and evaluate functional tests and endurance runs, including documentation

• Series readiness & project responsibility: Evolve prototypes into series-capable products—manufacturable, assembly-ready, and cost-effective—while managing projects for function, quality, cost, and schedule

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or comparable (Bachelor/Master)

• Multiple years of proven experience developing demanding mechanical or mechatronic products up to series readiness

• Confident use of Creo or SolidWorks

• Fluent German and good English (written and spoken)
