Senior Java Developer for a long-term fraud detection initiative (claims processing) with a hybrid setup (minimum 1 day/week in Warsaw).

Description

You will design and develop a fraud detection system within a modern claims-automation ecosystem. The work centers on Java microservices, event-driven integrations, and delivering functional, performance, and security requirements, supported by automated testing and code reviews. You’ll collaborate with analysts, architects, Data Scientists, and the Product Owner, using AI/agentic AI tools to help with development, testing, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement fraud detection capabilities in claims handling processes
• Translate business and technical requirements into Java solutions
• Build internal and external integrations using APIs and event-driven architecture
• Help design solutions covering functional, performance, and security requirements
• Develop automated tests and participate in integration/system testing
• Perform code reviews and maintain architectural quality and consistency
• Work with Product Owner, Technical Leader, Data Scientists, Business Analysts, Developers, and Testers
• Use AI tools (including agentic AI) for analysis, development, testing, and maintenance support
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies and contribute to team technology standards

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of commercial Java experience
• Very good knowledge of Spring Framework: Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Hibernate
• Experience with Apache Kafka
• Very good SQL knowledge
• Experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
• Knowledge of unit and integration testing (JUnit, TestNG, Spock, Testcontainers, WireMock)
• Good understanding of OOP and functional programming
• Experience with application containerization
• Knowledge of BPM process engines and BPMN notation
• Practical resilience patterns for distributed systems
• Ability to use AI tools in the software development process
• Knowledge of application performance monitoring and diagnostics tools
