Staff Product Engineer

Senior • On-site

503,000 - 580,000 PLN/yr

Warsaw, MA, Poland

Quick Facts

  • Role: Staff Product Engineer (individual contributor)
  • Team focus: Model Authoring (pricing models, model developer experience, and an actuarial agent)

Description

As a Staff Product Engineer, you will help set the team’s technical direction by establishing engineering standards, raising the bar across pods, and owning key interfaces between Model Authoring and other teams in Technology. You’ll work hands-on on the highest-risk problems and help define how the team works in an AI-native way—what we delegate to agents vs. what stays human, and what evidence we need to trust outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Establish documented engineering standards across Model Authoring pods, enforced by code review and followed by default for new pod work
  • Set and own technical direction for shared enablers: model representation/persistence, model registry, secure context access, and shared agentic infrastructure
  • Define and manage technical interfaces with other parts of the business, aligning dependencies and ensuring progress without needing mediation
  • Take hands-on ownership of the hardest problems in the stream, where risk is highest
  • Shape the AI-native workflow: delegation to agents, human involvement, and evidence requirements
  • Provide visible engineering support and design input across pods to visibly lift surrounding engineers

Requirements

  • Have worked in an AI-native environment and actively used AI/agentic tools in engineering workflows
  • Be product-focused and connect technical choices to user pain points and commercial outcomes
  • Set technical direction in ambiguity; own architecture in domains without established playbooks and make decisions on imperfect information
  • Own major technical challenges/services end to end with the depth to explain trade-offs and alternative approaches
  • Influence across teams by responding well to challenge, listening to pushback, and persuading others
  • Work effectively across distributed teams (Warsaw and London), comfortable building relationships and influence across both

Benefits

  • B2B: 25 days of non-working + Polish bank holidays
  • Learning & Development budget: £5,000 GBP
  • Mental health support and therapy via Spectrum Life
  • Optional private healthcare via Luxmed + Multisport (funded by yourself as a B2B Contractor)
  • Top-spec laptop (macOS or Windows)
  • UoP: 26 days of holiday + Polish bank holidays
  • Company pension
  • Company sick pay for 10 days at 100% salary
  • Monthly wellbeing allowance via Juno
  • Private healthcare insurance via Luxmed
  • Multisport (Classic level)
  • Top-spec work equipment (macOS/Windows + monitors, mechanical keyboards, etc.)
