Description

You are responsible for the existing infrastructure and help ensure stable, secure operations together with the IT team. At the same time, you will shape the next development stage by gradually replacing parts of the current system landscape with in-house solutions and a new technical infrastructure. The role requires both strategic architectural thinking and hands-on technical troubleshooting across system boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Ensure reliable operation and further development of the current system landscape

• Operate and troubleshoot teleradiology infrastructure

• Configure and manage firewalls and VPN

• Ensure network and system security

• Maintain and support DICOM and HL7-based interfaces

• Collaborate with internal and external IT teams, vendors, and service providers

• Evaluate existing systems and new technologies, including dependencies and risks

• Define robust, scalable infrastructure standards (e.g., IaC, observability, reproducibility, high availability, multi-master replication)

• Use modern automation and AI tools to speed up analysis and reduce recurring work

• Automate recurring administrative and operational processes

• Create technical documentation for architecture, systems, and operational processes

Requirements

• Several years of relevant experience in the responsibilities listed above

• Independent, structured use of modern tools, including LLMs and other AI-assisted tools

• Very good German skills in speech and writing (C1 minimum)

• Multi-site experience with complex, mission-critical IT infrastructures (radiology, hospital IT, or similar)

• Shared responsibility for the IT infrastructure of a larger radiology organization/hospital group/medical care network

• Knowledge of environments with multiple locations and centrally provided radiology systems

• Practical experience with PACS and RIS/KIS

• Experience operating large DICOM and HL7 infrastructures

• Experience modernizing, consolidating, or migrating infrastructure to a new architecture

• Ability to handle both strategic architecture discussions and deep technical problem-solving

• Experience in an ISO-27001-certified environment, including information security requirements, documentation, and processes
