Description

Drive the vision, roadmap, and market execution for VMware vSphere-based enterprise virtualization, cloud infrastructure, and AI platform capabilities. Bridge enterprise customers, engineering teams, sales, and executive leadership to define requirements that modernize on-premises data centers and scale into hybrid cloud. Translate needs into PRDs and user stories, manage feature lifecycles, and guide integration with Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a multi-year product strategy for vSphere capabilities aligned to enterprise needs such as AI/ML workloads, automation, and VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)

• Translate customer pain points and complex technical architectures into PRDs, user stories, and feature prioritization matrices

• Collaborate daily with Engineering, UX designers, and architects within an Agile (Scrum) framework

• Manage features across their lifecycle from ideation through alpha/beta testing and general availability (GA), including depreciation or migration paths

• Define modernization strategies to ensure vSphere integrates with cloud-native technologies (e.g., vSphere with Tanzu, Kubernetes, containers)

• Partner with Product Marketing for go-to-market and sales enablement: competitive positioning, technical whitepapers, pricing strategy, and sales collateral

• Act as a subject matter expert at industry events, customer advisory boards (CABs), and technical feedback sessions with Fortune 500 IT leadership

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent technical field

• 12+ years of related industry experience (MBA highly desirable)

• 5+ years of software Product Management experience in enterprise infrastructure, virtualization, hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI), or cloud platforms for AI workloads

• Deep understanding of VMware ecosystem components: vSphere (ESXi, vCenter), vSAN, and data center architectures (compute, enterprise storage, distributed networking, AI)

• Cloud-native literacy: Kubernetes, platform engineering, and hybrid cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP)

• Agile competency with Scrum processes, ability to manage complex developer backlogs, and delivery of iterative technical outcomes from abstract problems
