Description

You will evolve and operate a Microsoft Azure cloud platform, transforming manual operations into secure, reproducible, and versioned processes. The role emphasizes Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, monitoring/logging, backup/recovery, governance and cost management. You will collaborate closely with IT and business stakeholders to implement stable, secure solutions and continuous improvements.

Responsibilities

• Evolve the Azure platform and move manual workflows into automated, reproducible, versioned processes.

• Build Infrastructure-as-Code and platform engineering structures; establish standards for multiple environments.

• Ensure stable and secure operation of the Azure platform and selected Microsoft 365 services, improving monitoring, logging, backup and recovery.

• Perform sustainable troubleshooting; implement security and governance requirements; keep an eye on costs, resource usage and long-term maintenance/modernization needs.

• Improve automated deployment and operations processes, as well as standardized self-service; embed quality and security checks early.

• Work with the IT team and business units to translate requirements into pragmatic, resilient solutions.

Requirements

• Multi-year hands-on experience operating and improving modern cloud platforms, preferably on Microsoft Azure

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, especially Bicep or Terraform (or comparable tools)

• Experience with Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines

• Strong cloud operations knowledge across multiple areas (IAM, networking/connectivity, role-based access, monitoring/logging, backup/recovery, governance or cost management)

• Ability to work confidently with PowerShell and Azure CLI for automation and operations, or willingness to quickly ramp up

• Fluency in German and English for effective communication

• Plus: API-first approaches (e.g., Microsoft Graph, Azure Resource Manager REST APIs)

• Plus: Microsoft 365, especially Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, or Endpoint Management
