Description

You will take ownership of a business-critical production platform after a move to Azure, partnering with the CTO and the software team to operate and continuously improve it. The role includes incident response, infrastructure automation, and reliability work with tested recovery for PostgreSQL and system components. Clear technical communication and strong engineering judgment are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and improve Azure infrastructure (e.g., Azure Front Door, VM Scale Sets, networking, storage, backups)

  • Automate infrastructure and deployments; advance CI/CD pipelines

  • Improve monitoring, logging, and alerting to detect and resolve issues early

  • Ensure reliable PostgreSQL operations, including performance, backups, and tested recovery

  • Lead technical investigation of production incidents, coordinate fixes, and implement lasting improvements

  • Document and test recovery and failover procedures against defined RTO and RPO targets

  • Strengthen access controls, secrets management, and secure change processes

  • Maintain operational documentation and support technical evidence for internal reviews and customer audits

Requirements

  • Several years of hands-on experience operating business-critical production systems on Microsoft Azure

  • Strong knowledge of Linux, networking, automation, and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform or Pulumi)

  • Practical production experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerized applications, and PostgreSQL

  • Concrete experience resolving production incidents and performing tested system or database recovery

  • Sound technical judgment, clear communication, and ownership through day-to-day operations

  • Confident communication in English

  • Experience with GitHub Actions, Fly.io, Elixir/Phoenix, or an ISO-27001 or DORA-related environment is helpful but not required
