Description

You will scope, design, implement, validate, and deploy Linux infrastructure capabilities for Azure Front Door’s global edge infrastructure. The work includes improving platform performance, reliability, scalability, and security, and investigating production issues using logs, telemetry, diagnostics, and distributed tracing. You’ll also evaluate and integrate advances across Linux, Kubernetes, networking, operating systems, and hardware acceleration, with observability, resiliency, and compliance built in.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Linux infrastructure features from requirements through production operations

• Build and operate Linux, Kubernetes, and fleet management platforms for global edge infrastructure

• Improve performance, reliability, scalability, security, and operational efficiency via automation and systems-level optimization

• Investigate production incidents using logs and distributed tracing; implement durable fixes to reduce recurrence

• Evaluate and integrate advances in Linux, Kubernetes, networking, operating systems, hardware acceleration, and AI-assisted engineering practices

• Design and operate with observability, resiliency, security, compliance, and maintainability as core principles

• Develop tools and automation to improve productivity and platform quality; provide technical guidance and code reviews

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience coding in C/C++/C#/Java/JavaScript/Python (or equivalent experience)

• Meet required Microsoft/customer/government security screening requirements

• Pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years

Benefits

• Base pay range (U.S.): USD $119,800–$234,700 per year (location-dependent ranges apply)
