Description

Maintain, further develop, and secure a Linux-based IT infrastructure for servers and clients. Administer and optimize a portfolio of services—mostly running in Docker containers—covering Nextcloud, GitLab, wiki services, and multiple databases. Implement modern security mechanisms and handle monitoring and backups across the infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and expand Linux-based infrastructure (server and client systems)
• Develop database, container, and virtualization solutions
• Administer and optimize services and platforms in Docker containers, including Nextcloud, WMS services, ticketing system, GitLab, SVN, wiki, MongoDB, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, and Samba/Active Directory
• Introduce modern security mechanisms for the IT architecture
• Perform monitoring and backups for the full IT infrastructure
• Procure and manage hardware and software
• Support employees with everyday IT problems and the use of provided services

Requirements

• Willingness to work with specialized business applications to ensure stable operations (including GIS and CAD systems and a fiber-planning system)
• Good understanding of Linux (Ubuntu, Debian)
• Knowledge of Docker and virtualization
• Knowledge of Windows 10 and standard MS Office applications
• Interest in Open-Source technologies and willingness to actively contribute
• Interest in testing and introducing new systems and techniques in OSS environments
• Structured thinking, reliability, and a good sense of humor
