229,000 - 230,000 USD/yr

Boston, MA

Quick Facts

  • Role: Software Development Manager (DevOps/CI & Deployment)
  • Focus: Continuous Integration, deployment, and biweekly security patching for stateful storage server software at large scale

Description

Lead a software engineering team in the DevOps space responsible for the Continuous Integration platform and the deployment and patching infrastructure used to safely ship and secure server software. You’ll set the technical direction and roadmap for distributed testing, deployment pipelines, and automated patching that updates fleets without customer impact. You will drive secure, autonomous operations and maintain operational health across on-call and patch compliance.

Role Description & Responsibilities

  • Lead, hire, develop, and promote software engineers across CI and deployment domains; build sustainable on-call and clear growth paths
  • Own technical direction and be accountable for how CI and deployment/patching systems work together
  • Deliver a CI platform that determines whether a change is safe to deploy to very large server fleets, including distributed test orchestration, intelligent test selection, and observability
  • Deliver deployment pipelines and automated security patching across regions and partitions on a biweekly cadence with zero customer impact and consistency guarantees
  • Drive secure autonomous operations: automated canary analysis, rollback, anomaly detection, and self-healing automation that reduces manual operator toil
  • Own operational health: on-call, patch compliance, and fleet-green cadences
  • Define business-aligned goals and deliver predictably using mechanisms for consistent shipping
  • Lead through change with clarity and empathy; influence technical direction beyond the immediate team

Requirements

  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience
  • 7+ years of engineering experience
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns across the full software/hardware/networks development lifecycle (coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, certification, live-site operations)
  • Experience partnering with product and program management teams
  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • Experience across the full software development lifecycle (coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, operations) OR experience deploying LLMs in production on GPUs, Neuron, TPU, or other AI acceleration hardware

Benefits

  • Health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, life and AD&D, and supplemental life options)
  • EAP and mental health support; medical advice line
  • Flexible Spending Accounts
  • 401(k) matching
  • Paid time off and parental leave
  • Sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs)
