Description

You will design and implement highly available database environments and clustered server architectures in security-critical IT landscapes. The role centers on EnterpriseDB/PostgreSQL expertise (ideally EDB Cluster, replication, performance) or Oracle database experience with migration to EnterpriseDB, plus HA and backup/recovery concepts. You will also take technical responsibility in customer projects and support presales through technical evaluation of customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement highly available database environments (EDB Cluster, replication, HA concepts)

• Plan and execute Oracle-to-EDB migrations for the platform transformation

• Design and implement complex Windows and Linux server landscapes

• Build and optimize clustered application and IIS environments

• Develop backup, recovery, and disaster-recovery concepts

• Provide technical project responsibility within defined customer projects

• Run workshops and technical coordination with hospital IT departments

• Support presales via technical assessment of customer requirements

• Contribute to standards, best practices, and architecture guidelines

• Mentor colleagues in complex project situations

Requirements

• Completed IT-oriented training or degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or comparable

• Multi-year experience delivering complex IT infrastructure projects

• Very good knowledge in at least one of: EnterpriseDB/PostgreSQL (incl. EDB Cluster, replication, performance) OR Oracle databases (Oracle migration experience preferred)

• Solid experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Microsoft Windows Server

• Solid experience with IIS and Windows failover clustering

• Knowledge of high availability, backup, and recovery strategies

• Structured, solution-oriented working style

• Willingness for project-based travel

• Very good German (C1+) and good English (B2+)
