Description

Design, implement, and optimize datacenter and infrastructure solutions across server, storage, virtualization, backup/recovery, and monitoring/observability. Lead technical planning through implementation, including migrations, upgrades, consolidations, and troubleshooting, and ensure secure, high-availability operations. Automate recurring configuration and infrastructure tasks and provide detailed documentation, runbooks, and operational handover.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement datacenter and infrastructure solutions for server, storage, virtualization, backup/recovery, and monitoring/observability

• Create technical detail concepts and designs and translate architecture/consulting concepts into stable, performant, and operational solutions

• Support migrations, upgrades, consolidations, and introduction of new infrastructure platforms end-to-end (planning to operational handover)

• Ensure availability, performance, scalability, security, and recoverability; develop operating, testing, backup, and recovery concepts

• Automate recurring tasks and configuration processes (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Terraform) and perform error/performance/cause analyses

• Produce technical documentation, operational handovers, and runbooks; support security/compliance/regulatory requirements

• Provide technical leadership for workstreams or implementation teams; support assessments, effort estimates, and solution evaluations; collaborate with customers and technology experts

Requirements

• Completed degree in Computer Science, IT training, or comparable qualification

• Several years of practical experience in engineering, design, or operation of datacenter infrastructure

• Proven knowledge across server/OS platforms, storage, virtualization, backup/recovery, monitoring/observability, high availability, disaster recovery, and hybrid cloud/hyperscalers

• Experience with planning, implementation, testing, and documentation of solutions, including migrations, upgrades, troubleshooting, and production optimization

• Experience automating infrastructure and configuration processes with PowerShell, Python, Ansible, or Terraform

• Structured and independent working style with understanding of secure, stable, and efficient IT operations

• ITSM/ITIL knowledge and relevant regulatory/security requirements are a plus

• Ability to use AI tools effectively in the specialty and critically assess results to support customers

• Very good German and good English skills
