Description

You will design, develop, and maintain C/C++ applications running on Embedded Linux devices for an IoT project. Most work (~80%) is C/C++ user-space development, with the rest (~20%) focused on Yocto and system-level topics. Expect multithreaded, asynchronous, event-driven programming plus MQTT and SQLite3 integration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain C/C++ applications in an Embedded Linux user-space environment
• Create multithreaded, asynchronous, and event-driven application components
• Implement synchronization mechanisms for processes/threads (mutex, semaphore, condition variable)
• Develop IoT communication features, including MQTT-based communication
• Create and optimize build processes with CMake
• Configure and maintain system services with systemd
• Integrate applications with relational databases, especially SQLite3
• Write Python scripts and tools to support development and testing automation
• Debug, analyze defects, and optimize application performance
• Collaborate on integrating applications with the Embedded Linux environment
• Support Yocto environment configuration and development as needed by the project

Requirements

• ~8 years of commercial software development experience, including practical Embedded Linux experience
• Very strong C and C++ knowledge for Linux user-space application development
• Experience designing and developing multithreaded applications
• Practical knowledge of synchronization mechanisms: mutex, semaphore, condition variable
• Experience with asynchronous and event-driven programming
• Good understanding of Linux and system application mechanisms
• Practical CMake experience
• Python knowledge for scripting, tools, and test automation
• MQTT knowledge and IoT device communication
• Knowledge of data exchange formats, especially JSON
• systemd knowledge (services, timers, application startup configuration)
• Relational database knowledge, especially SQLite3
• Ability to independently analyze and resolve technical problems
