Description

Own and maintain internal tools and applications that support operations, with a focus on the customer’s overall backup infrastructure. You will manage backup and storage architecture, deployments, monitoring, incident follow-up, and disaster recovery-related activities. You will collaborate with customers and providers through ticketing and email to resolve cross-team issues.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and propose configurations; define architecture and reference configurations; maintain CMDB
• Coordinate decommissioning, including data migration, logical disk shredding, and configuration cleanup
• Set up and maintain storage device definitions and policies; set up and maintain backup tool modules and policies
• SAN administration: manage zoning and port configurations, enforce standards-based deployments, and handle installation/provisioning/troubleshooting/reporting
• Monitor backup and storage infrastructure
• Perform incident follow-up and resolution (SMT), present RCA after major system events with preventive measures, and handle service requests (SMT)
• Generate reports on overall service infrastructure status
• Conduct periodic vulnerability analysis with risk/impact assessment; coordinate updates and patching with providers
• Run routine and preventive maintenance; perform capacity and performance planning for each component
• Support disaster recovery exercises

Requirements

• 3–6 years of Backup & Storage domain experience in a large environment
• University degree or equivalent level via experience and professional training
• Ability and willingness to quickly learn new technologies via self-study
• Strong communication skills; structured, process-minded, and able to maintain high-level overview
• Fluent English (at least B2); French is an asset
• Ability to work independently and manage time
• Customer-focused mindset in a multinational environment; willing to travel to industry events and customer meetings
• Good knowledge of at least some of: Commvault; Brocade SAN; Hitachi storage; NetApp ONTAP (AFFxxxx) and StorageGrid (SG6xxx); Dell EMC Isilon/PowerScale
• S3 protocol/object storage knowledge (preferably Cloudian and/or StorageGrid)
• Familiarity with Agile methodology
• Working knowledge of ITIL 4
• Familiarity with Disaster Recovery exercises
