Description

Lead system validation for Azure’s hardware solutions by architecting and developing test and debug frameworks that deliver holistic coverage and enable efficient debugging. Partner across engineering teams and external partners (e.g., ODMs) to define validation strategies, automate testing, triage defects, and improve validation methodology end to end.

Responsibilities

  • Define and develop system validation architecture, test frameworks, and test plans for complex hardware solutions (CPU/GPU applications)
  • Drive continuous improvement toward unified and standard test, validation, and debug methodology using automation and AI capabilities
  • Build test and debug automation and establish execution plans for new technologies and Microsoft IP features
  • Collaborate with ODMs, system engineers, design teams, and customers on validation execution
  • Debug system failures observed in the field/fleet
  • Perform defect triaging, debugging, and resolution for cross-functional issues
  • Ensure systems meet quality, reliability, and service level requirements for cloud environments
  • Define quality criteria across program phases using metrics (test coverage, bug discovery, test optimization, test automation)
  • Improve process and data quality; support cross-boundary triaging
  • Automate review processes to improve data quality and scaling
  • Mentor validation engineers on test plan creation and writing test cases for holistic coverage

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 7+ years technical engineering experience, or
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including passing the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years
  • Provide proof of citizenship or U.S. permanent residency (or other protected status) to access export-controlled information; citizenship verification with a valid passport is required

Benefits

  • Base pay range across the U.S.: USD $142,800–$274,800 per year (location-dependent ranges apply for certain areas, including San Francisco Bay Area and NYC metro)
  • Eligible roles may receive additional benefits and compensation
