Description

As a Lead Cyber Security Engineer, you will drive the design, acquisition, and deployment of security infrastructure in close coordination with the broader Technology team, ensuring security frameworks meet high quality and compliance standards. You will define scalable, integrated security architectures, deploy and maintain VMware vDefend security controls and micro-segmentation solutions, and help shape product and architecture roadmaps across a complex cloud and network ecosystem. You’ll also build automation scripts to streamline operational work and troubleshoot high-impact incidents to restore services quickly.

Responsibilities

• Partner with enterprise transformation and security stakeholders (architects, program directors, steering committees, CISO/CTI partners) to deliver transformation programs
• Design, deploy, and maintain micro-segmentation and VMware vDefend security controls
• Support security architecture governance through councils and working groups
• Support cloud-continuum adoption and holistic digital transformation
• Develop automation scripts (Python, Shell) for installations/upgrades, patching, and provisioning
• Create project plans and perform impact analyses; troubleshoot complex technical issues
• Review technical requirements, define hardware specifications, and optimize engineering processes
• Mentor and coach junior engineers with high autonomy
• Drive technical direction for long-term fixes to prevent recurring issues
• Proactively assess and manage risk to meet applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies

Requirements

• 5+ years progressive experience in cybersecurity, technology infrastructure, or IT engineering in large-scale enterprises
• Leadership experience in senior engineering roles or transformation programs
• Hands-on micro-segmentation and network segmentation expertise (Illumio, VMware vDefend, Zscaler, Palo Alto Networks)
• Deep knowledge of cloud security and network/macro/micro-segmentation and firewalls
• Strong understanding of security frameworks and corporate technology compliance standards
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects under pressure
• Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Linux/Unix administration experience (highly desirable)
• Proxy and network traffic management understanding
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (Master’s preferred)
