Description

Own the end-to-end technical consistency of a modular autonomous mobile robot family by aligning mechanics, electronics, and software into one versioned system with repeatable testability. Lead development and maintenance of the target robot architecture, communication contracts, and Robot API versioning/compatibility. Drive ROS 2 integrations and validation, and provide technical mentoring to the software team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the target architecture of the full robot

• Define responsibility boundaries across platform, overlay, supervisory system, and operator panel

• Organize interfaces and communication contracts between components

• Define Robot API versioning approach and module compatibility

• Lead ROS 2 integration for drivers, perception, dialogue system, and hardware devices (including NVIDIA Jetson)

• Define command priorities, emergency states, and robot behavior on communication loss

• Prepare a technical Definition of Done

• Create integration plans, launch checklists, and validation scenarios

• Perform problem analysis using logs, telemetry, and experimental test results

• Ensure traceability; participate in documentation/review acceptance for subcontractor deliverables

• Mentor the engineering team and provide technical support to the Project Manager

Requirements

• Experience with complex robotic or embedded systems

• Very good knowledge of ROS 2

• Practical knowledge of C++ and Python

• Experience integrating sensors, drivers, and onboard computers (NVIDIA Jetson)

• Knowledge of communication systems (e.g., gRPC, DDS, CAN, MQTT)

• Experience diagnosing issues at the hardware–software boundary

• Ability to design integration and system tests

• Ability to create pragmatic architectural documentation
