Description

You will run the day-to-day operations of a multi-tenant cloud platform based on VMware and OpenStack at data center locations.

The job includes integrating and operating network, firewall, storage, and compute components, performing lifecycle tasks such as monitoring, patching, firmware updates, and configuration changes, and supporting tenant-specific environments and migrations.

You will also manage platform backups, use monitoring/event handling to meet SLAs, and participate in incident/change/problem management.

Requirements

• Completed IT education (e.g., Fachinformatiker Systemintegration), a degree in Computer Science, or comparable qualification

• Experience operating cloud or virtualization platforms, especially OpenStack and VMware vSphere/vCenter/ESXi

• Network fundamentals: TCP/IP, VLANs, switching, routing, firewalling

• Storage fundamentals: SAN, NAS

• Solid Linux and/or Windows Server administration

• Basic backup knowledge (Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik)

• Basic monitoring knowledge (CheckMK, N-central, Prometheus)

• Willingness to join on-call rotation

• Willingness to attend occasional on-site appointments (typically 1–2 times per month)

• Structured, self-organized working style and high responsibility

• Good communication and teamwork skills with customers and partners

• High learning drive and motivation to quickly adapt to new technologies

• Very good German skills in writing and speaking

• Senior add-ons: multi-tenant platform operations with tenant isolation

• Senior add-ons: automation experience (Ansible, Terraform, PowerCLI)

• Senior add-ons: ITIL process knowledge (Incident, Change, Problem Management)

• Senior add-ons: experience with migration projects and responsibility for platform components
