Description

You will work at the intersection of Security Operations, Security Architecture, and Incident Response to develop and advance security solutions for a distributed network of modern technology companies. The role includes evolving monitoring and alerting, analyzing security events, leading incident-response activities, and optimizing security tools and processes for cloud and on-prem environments. You will also drive automation opportunities and contribute to the future security architecture across network, endpoints, servers, and cloud.

Responsibilities

• Improve monitoring and alerting processes; analyze alerts and detect potential threats early
• Conduct incident response; coordinate measures with internal and external stakeholders and refine playbooks/processes
• Operate and optimize existing security solutions; evaluate new technologies (vendor-independent) for security, value, and effort
• Advance the strategic development of the security tool landscape and help shape future security architecture (network, endpoints, servers, cloud)
• Analyze existing security processes to identify and implement efficiency improvements and automation; evaluate added value of AI-based solutions
• Collaborate with IT operations, network, cloud and infrastructure teams, data protection, compliance, and external service providers; communicate risks and recommendations to different audiences
• Document technical security measures and support evidence, audits, and reporting on the current security posture

Requirements

• Long practical experience in IT security across operations, technical implementation, and conceptual work
• Experience with security monitoring and incident handling using SIEM, EDR/XDR, and NDR, including network, endpoint, and identity security
• Experience with on-prem and cloud security; ability to assess and evolve security architectures into practical implementations
• Experience evaluating, introducing, and improving security solutions; ability to ramp up on new technologies
• Familiarity with Zero Trust, network segmentation, vulnerability and patch management; understanding of relevant standards (ISO 27001, BSI IT-Grundschutz, CIS, NIST CSF, NIS-2)
• German C1 and English B2 communication skills
• Ability to explain technical risks clearly and represent your viewpoint confidently to IT teams, business units, management, and stakeholders
• CISSP/CISM/GIAC certifications are a plus; willingness to continuously develop is important
