Description

You will provide technical leadership for multi-hybrid cloud solutions, designing, deploying, integrating, and validating mission-critical capabilities with strong emphasis on security, compliance, and operational excellence. You will gather and ratify requirements, define and document architecture decisions, drive governance through POCs/pilots, and support testing and ATO-ready validation. You will also mentor colleagues and challenge suboptimal decisions using evidence-based reasoning.

Responsibilities

  • Architecture design and deployment: build and document a costed solution approach with traceability of requirements/constraints, decisions, and tradeoffs; establish cybersecurity accountability and follow SFI principles

  • Joint governance: lead implementation oversight with the Project Manager/IDCL; coordinate release schedules and transition to live operations

  • Requirements, risks, and test planning: gather/ratify requirements and constraints; maintain traceability matrices; define risk mitigation/contingency plans; drive SME test plans including security controls

  • Mission enclave architecture: design virtual networking, NSGs, peering automation, and enclave isolation/boundary enforcement

  • Documentation and operational artifacts: maintain architecture description, decisions log, diagrams, performance dashboards, and feature-level documentation; update ATO artifacts and support authorizing official (AO) review

  • DevSecOps and automation: develop promotion patterns for configuration/deployment changes; create and sustain dev/test/integration environments; expand DevSecOps capabilities and solution accelerators

  • Security review support: participate in security reviews with Security Control Assessors (SCA), remediate findings, and resubmit artifacts

Requirements

  • Active U.S. Government TOP SECRET/SCI clearance
  • U.S. citizenship verification
  • Master’s degree with 4+ years experience OR Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years experience OR equivalent experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or security domain
  • Pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter

Preferred / Additional Qualifications

  • 10+ years in solution architecture, cloud architecture, or systems engineering
  • Hands-on experience with AKS and containerized workloads
  • Expertise in Azure networking (VNETs, peering, NSGs, private connectivity, hybrid networking)
  • Strong DevSecOps background (CI/CD, infrastructure as code, automated security controls)
  • Experience supporting federal security requirements, including ATO processes and artifact development
  • Ability to produce architecture artifacts for AO/executive review
  • Strong communication skills and cross-team collaboration
  • Technical/professional certification in the security domain
