Description

As an Associate Engineering Manager, you will lead and support a multi-member engineering team to deliver products aligned with action plans while maintaining high code quality through production. The role is hands-on—coding alongside the team—and includes improving people-management tools and engineering workflows, processes, and best practices. You will also act as a technical authority for architecture, design strategies, and delivery execution, collaborating with stakeholders to balance priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage a multi-member engineering team and ensure consistent product delivery
• Participate in hands-on technical work, including coding and software development
• Ensure code quality and functionality during the production phase
• Define service features and components for the team’s scope
• Improve processes and team performance; introduce engineering best practices
• Communicate progress, achievements, and improvement areas to team and management
• Lead architecture and design discussions; provide technical guidance
• Mentor less experienced developers
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define action plans and manage priorities
• Monitor engagement and well-being indicators; proactively address performance challenges
• Support team members’ career growth and development
• Participate in recruitment processes
• Advocate business and technical decisions within the team

Requirements

• Extensive experience designing, building, and deploying solutions in AWS with a strong focus on quality
• Experience delivering low-latency, high-throughput API systems using Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
• Strong programming skills in at least one object-oriented language/framework/platform
• Ability to write automated tests (unit, integration, etc.) and strengthen code quality
• Experience with continuous integration and automated testing practices
• Proven experience building CI/CD solutions and cloud infrastructure automation using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
• Belief in Continuous Delivery as a value to clients
• Passion for full team ownership across the product lifecycle, including after-hours support
• Ability to learn new languages/technologies and balance quality delivery with deadlines
