Description

Build, deploy, and scale network solutions that support AWS interconnects across global data centers. Design and implement scalable testing infrastructure for optics interconnect development and product deployment, including automated tools and standardized processes for high-volume optical transceiver system-level testing. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and supplier partners to establish testing frameworks and quality assurance, and work with network operations to improve quality, RMA processes, and link error handling efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop automated tools and standardized processes for high-volume optical transceiver system-level testing

• Lead collaboration with internal stakeholders and supplier partners to establish robust testing frameworks and QA procedures for optical modules

• Work with network operations to identify operational issues and improve the quality and RMA process

• Engage stakeholders to identify improvements during rack deployment or bring-up

• Improve link error handling efficiency with the network operations team

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent

• 3+ years of experience with optical communication systems or components

• 3+ years of experience developing test scripts for optics validation and characterization

• 2+ years of experience with optical transceivers and IEEE standards

• 2+ years of experience working with optical and/or networking merchant silicon suppliers, manufacturing processes, and qualifications

• 2+ years of professional development experience with Python (or a similar scripting language) for automation

Preferred Qualifications

• Master/PhD (or equivalent) in Physics or related engineering fields

• 2+ years in hardware and systems design, development, and troubleshooting

• 1+ year applying network design, including protocols, topology design, network hardware, device configuration, and traffic engineering

• 1+ year of database and AWS services experience

• 1+ year working with ODMs and component suppliers to deliver optical solutions
