Description

You will lead Android engineering and contribute hands-on to critical features for a large-scale content discovery platform used by hundreds of millions of users. The role combines people leadership with technical direction—defining architecture, coding standards, and ensuring delivery in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow Android developers and QA/AQA engineers (1-on-1s, performance reviews, career planning)
• Foster innovation and continuous improvement; enable knowledge sharing and technical excellence
• Design scalable solutions and evaluate architecture options; set technical direction and quality guidelines
• Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices
• Stay current with Android ecosystem trends and drive adoption of relevant technologies
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and cross-functional teams on delivery
• Plan sprints, estimate work, track progress using Agile/Scrum metrics, and ensure timely delivery
• Balance technical debt with feature development in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

• 2+ years people management experience in a technical leadership role (preferred)
• Experience building and scaling high-performing teams
• Experience leading development teams using Agile/Scrum
• Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing requirements
• 5+ years native Android application development
• Expert Kotlin and modern Android development practices
• Deep knowledge of Kotlin Coroutines, Flow, and reactive programming
• Proficiency with MV* patterns (MVVM, MVI), Clean Architecture, and SOLID principles
• Strong understanding of Android internals, app lifecycle, and performance optimization
• Experience with multi-module architecture and dependency injection
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
• Knowledge of build variants, product flavors, and build configuration
• Nice to have: system-level apps or privileged APIs
• Nice to have: mobile security, app hardening, or compliance
• Nice to have: large-scale apps (1M+ users)
