Description

You will develop and enhance Android applications using Kotlin and modern Android frameworks, including Jetpack Compose for modern UI and strong state management with offline capabilities. The role includes integrating REST APIs and collaborating with Kafka-based backend services, while ensuring high code quality through testing, code reviews, and engineering best practices. You will also act as a technical lead for Android topics—supporting architectural decisions and mentoring less experienced developers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance Android applications using Kotlin and modern Android frameworks
• Build mobile solutions for “Store Capture and Transition Steering”
• Integrate and maintain the Scandit scanning library
• Implement modern user interfaces using Jetpack Compose
• Design and maintain robust state management and offline capabilities
• Integrate REST APIs and collaborate with Kafka-based backend services
• Ensure high code quality through testing, code reviews, and best engineering practices
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, application performance, and release processes
• Provide technical leadership for Android topics and support team members
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Backend Engineers, QA, and DevOps in an Agile Scrum environment

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Android development
• Strong expertise in Kotlin
• Extensive experience with Jetpack Compose
• Solid understanding of Coroutines, Flows, and asynchronous programming
• Experience with Retrofit and/or Ktor
• Strong knowledge of REST API integration and API-first architectures
• Experience with unit and UI testing (JUnit, Espresso, Compose UI Testing)
• Hands-on experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines
• Understanding of event-driven architectures and integration patterns (REST, Kafka)
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical solutions
• Experience in a Tech Lead / Lead Developer capacity (architectural guidance and technical mentoring)
• Ability to work effectively in distributed international teams (English B2/C1 minimum)
