Description

Design, develop, and operate high-throughput, low-latency identity services including SSO, MFA, session management, and federation. Own end-to-end delivery of secure authentication and authorization using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and JWT token formats, including issuance, rotation, and revocation. Serve as a subject matter expert for identity security, threat modeling, and secure integrations.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and operate identity services (SSO, MFA, session management, federation)

• Own features end-to-end from design through production support

• Implement and scale OAuth 2.0 / OIDC / JWT-based authentication and authorization (token security, rotation, revocation)

• Write clean, concurrent, high-performance backend services primarily in Go

• Define idiomatic, testable code and clear API contracts (gRPC/HTTP)

• Use DevOps practices to deploy, manage, and automate identity infrastructure (CI/CD, monitoring, incident response)

• Lead security reviews and threat modeling for identity flows; guide secure integrations

• Integrate and maintain custom and standard identity providers (e.g., Keycloak, AWS Cognito) and federation patterns

• Mentor engineers, conduct design reviews, and contribute to the technical roadmap and security posture

Requirements

• 7+ years of backend engineering experience, including 5+ years with Go

• IAM production experience

• Production experience with Go and gRPC building complex distributed backend systems

• Deep expertise in authentication/authorization (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SSO, MFA, RBAC, JWT signing/verification/assertions, token security, session management, cryptography)

• Strong web security and federated identity knowledge (secure coding, OWASP Top 10)

• Hands-on cloud experience (AWS preferred), Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Terragrunt, OpenTofu/Tofu)

• Ability to design secure, correct, high-throughput, low-latency systems

• Strong communication skills for explaining security/architecture trade-offs

• English level Upper-Intermediate or above
