Description

Lead the operational production of game graphics and animation delivered by a team of ~40–50 people. You will manage workload, allocation across parallel projects, estimates, working hours, budgets, timelines, and ensure timely delivery of art assets. Creative direction stays with the Art Lead; you own organization, resources, costs, and delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Operatively manage graphics and animation production by the art team

  • Plan work and allocate artists/animators across multiple simultaneous productions

  • Create and control production schedules from concept and asset/animation preparation to final delivery

  • Plan budgets, hours, and headcount needed for each game

  • Monitor planned vs actual hours at both person and task level

  • Analyze estimation overruns and delays; react via changing priorities, scope, or team allocation

  • Ensure on-time delivery of symbols, backgrounds, characters, UI, illustrations, and animations within scope

  • Continuously monitor team capacity, identify blockers, and set proper priorities

  • Report using metrics such as hours per game, asset costs, budget usage, and plan vs actual delivery

  • Improve art/animation production processes and pipelines

  • Collaborate closely with the Art Lead (creative direction), while owning organization, resources, costs, and delivery

  • Hold direct discussions with team members during delays, execution issues, or recurring estimation overruns

Requirements

  • 4–5+ years of gaming experience plus direct art production leadership experience

  • Experience managing 2D/3D Artists, Animators, Concept Artists, VFX Artists or similar teams (not only collaboration)

  • Practical knowledge of game asset and animation creation process to validate estimates and required time

  • Experience with workload planning, staffing allocation, and responding to delays/overload

  • Experience controlling planned vs actual hours and production costs

  • Experience budgeting production and managing schedules

  • Animation pipeline knowledge including skeletal animation, rigging, Spine, and VFX

  • Excellent knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets and tools for project management and time tracking

  • Proficiency with Claude and other AI tools

  • Knowledge of Jira (or equivalent) and time tracking systems

  • Fluent Polish and English proficiency at least B2

  • Direct communication style; comfortable informing artists about mismatches/delays and proactively reporting at-risk timelines to leadership
