Description

Own end-to-end safety compliance for AWS data center hardware, from early-stage design engagement through final certification. Lead safety compliance strategy for new product introduction and sustaining programs, and act as the technical authority on applicable safety standards for control panels, low-voltage switchgear, and ICT equipment. Partner with product development teams, ODM design partners, test agencies, and legal stakeholders to deliver compliant products on tight timelines.

Responsibilities

• Own safety compliance strategy for NPI and sustaining programs, identify applicable requirements across global markets, and drive execution from concept through certification.

• Partner with hardware teams during design reviews to proactively identify safety risks, recommend design modifications, and support first-time test pass rates.

• Serve as primary technical interface with NRTLs and Notified Bodies; manage test plans, resolve findings, and secure timely approvals.

• Perform deep technical root cause analysis with ODM design partners; define corrective and preventative actions to avoid recurrence.

• Build and maintain a scalable compliance framework (templates, checklists, process documentation).

• Develop and track metrics for certification pipeline health, cycle times, and risk areas to prioritize improvements and communicate status.

• Stay current on evolving global safety regulations and proactively assess impacts to the product roadmap.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.

• Experience understanding electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations (e.g., feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS units, PDU units, chillers, pumps, air handling units).

• 4+ years of progressive experience supporting NPI/NPD design related to product compliance.

• Experience with international certification.
