Description

You will administer Linux operating systems, middleware, and applications, handling troubleshooting and problem resolution in highly available environments. The role includes developing automation, tuning, and performance solutions while evaluating and maintaining required hardware and software. You will also contribute to resilient system architectures, including recovery/restart procedures, and support users through consulting and training.

Responsibilities

• Administer operating systems, middleware, and applications (including problem analysis and resolution)

• Develop and implement automation, tuning, and performance solutions

• Analyze new technologies; select, implement, and maintain hardware and software

• Design fault-tolerant system architectures; develop recovery/restart procedures with IT security always considered

• Advise and train business users

• Participate in cross-functional projects

Requirements

• Completed IT-related degree or comparable training/qualification

• Professional experience in (Red Hat) Linux system administration in mission-critical, highly available environments

• Knowledge of application servers/middleware (JBoss, Tomcat)

• Knowledge of Red Hat Satellite Server for systems management and provisioning

• Experience with problem analysis, capacity planning, and budget planning

• Knowledge of system automation (Ansible, Puppet, SaltStack), virtualization, and directory services (LDAP)

• Knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and scripting for procedures (Bash, Python, Perl)

• German and English proficiency at least C1
