Description

Lead and influence Design for Serviceability (DFS) and Design for Integration (DFI) strategies across cloud hardware and operations organizations as part of NPI program execution. Own serviceability design and verification through development gates, drive teardown-based insights and tooling/FRU readiness, and produce/maintain service collateral and spares readiness with ODM and datacenter partners. Emphasize improving organizational serviceability fundamentals through cross-team collaboration and lessons learned.

Responsibilities

• Drive isolation of DFS and DFI requirements through partner-assessment checklists for assigned technology pillar and product groups; lead with documented evidence and action items.

• Own serviceability verification at BOP/ASR/EVR/DVR/PVR gates.

• Lead serviceability design with hardware teardowns: capture photos, confirm time-on-task results, produce tool lists, determine FRUs, and track issues to closure in ADO.

• Mentor and influence EE/ME/Thermal engineers on FRU boundaries and labeling; ensure serviceability including tool-less or standard-tool serviceability in CAD and/or early prototypes.

• Author and update service collateral (Service Manuals, spares BOM, labels, tool lists) while validating DFS/DFI in L10/L11 builds and pilot field trials.

• Own supplier scorecard KPIs with impacted SIs/ODMs; drive prototypes/mechanical mock-ups and implement ADO/ECO changes.

• Maintain change control hygiene (ECO/ECN, ADO work items) and ensure serviceability artifacts are versioned and traceable.

• Drive post-mortems and lessons learned; roll improvements into checklists and standards for subsequent NPI phases.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience, or Bachelor’s Degree AND 5+ years technical engineering experience, or equivalent experience.

• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including passing the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
